The original DogTagPillBox with Lambskin Leather Inlay:
An original design DogTagPillBox with imported (from Italy) lambskin leather inlay on both the lid and the bottom.
Once off the CNC machine line the rest is completely done by hand... one at a time. The first step is creating the pocket to inset the leather. Off the CNC machine each MagTag is milled .7mm (.026 inches) on both the lid and the bottom. The lid (prior to milling) is .25 (or a quarter) inch thick and the bottom has even more room.. so we are looking at a milling of less than 10% of the depth so the structure remains strong and sturdy...
LEATHER: This is NOT cowhide but rather Premium grade imported Lambskin (from Italy) .The metal is ready and the leather is stretched and marked, cut to set.... The pictures show the completed box both opened and closed and the bottom as well as a picture of a milled box prior to setting the leather... and the border is only 1/40,000 of an inch so the leather just about covers the entire respective area. A picture of the leather being stretched and marked to prepare for cutting.
**Please keep in mind that this process is completed by hand.. not laser cut leather... there may be some imperfections, however; we grade this as a premium piece of jewelry.
